Course Description

The HAZWOPER  Refresher (8-Hour) course is an advanced certification program designed to deliver essential knowledge and training in accordance with the OSHA standard for hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) outlined in 29 CFR 1910.120.

This course is mandatory for employees involved in cleanup operations, requiring eight hours of refresher training annually. The training is designed to provide up-to-date content and serves as a comprehensive review of fundamental occupational safety and health principles initially acquired during their initial 24-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification training.


HAZWOPER Refresher (8-Hour) course covers critical topics including:

  • Current HAZWOPER safety and health issues as per OSHA and other organizations
  • OSHA HAZWOPER standard requirements
  • Hazardous waste site characterization and control
  • Training requirements for workers, managers, supervisors, and teachers

  • Requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA) for treatment, storage, and disposal (TS&D) facilities
