Which CPR Class Do You Need?
Most people searching for CPR classes are not sure which certification they need. It usually comes down to one question: does your employer treat you as a professional responder, or do you need to be able to act until help arrives?
The professional-level class. For nurses, EMTs, paramedics, dental staff and healthcare students whose employer or programme asks for BLS specifically. Adds two-rescuer CPR, team dynamics and bag-mask ventilation.
For workplaces, coaches, teachers, security staff and parents with no clinical background. This is what most employers mean when they ask staff to be CPR certified.
For childcare staff, teachers, camp counsellors and parents. Covers infant and child technique, which differs from adult CPR in compression depth, hand placement and rescue breathing.
Injury and illness response, taken on its own or combined with CPR and AED in a single session.
For correctional officers, childcare workers, security staff and anyone with occupational exposure risk.
Tourniquet and severe bleeding control, for responding before emergency services arrive.
Upcoming Class Dates
Open enrollment classes run regularly at both locations. Class dates, times and seat availability are listed on our booking page, updated as new sessions are scheduled.

What CPR Certification Costs
Open enrollment classes at J.A.S. Training start at $60 per person, and your American Heart Association certification card is included in the price. The combined CPR, AED and First Aid session is $95 per person.
What you pay depends on three things:
- Which certification you need. A combined CPR, AED and First Aid session costs more than CPR alone.
- Whether you attend an open class or book onsite training. Group rates apply when we come to you.
- Group size. Larger groups booked together cost less per person.
There are no hidden fees, and there is no separate charge for your certification card.
Onsite Training for Workplaces, Schools and Groups
We travel to workplaces, daycares, schools, churches and community groups across Central Pennsylvania to run certification on site, scheduled around your operating hours so you are not closing for a day. Any group size, from a handful of staff to a full centre.

Jeremy came out to teach a CPR/AED/First Aid class to our girl scout troop. We had 20 girls (ranging from 2nd - 9th grades) and they all were able to get CPR certified! Jeremy made the class fun and educational for all of them.

Delivery was well planned and the instructor was well versed. Down-to-earth, easy to learn approach.

FAQs
How long does CPR certification last?
AHA CPR certifications are valid for two years. We offer renewal classes before your card expires.
What's the difference between CPR and First Aid training?
CPR focuses specifically on responding to cardiac emergencies. First Aid covers a broader range of injuries and situations. We offer both separately and combined.
Do you offer group or business training?
Yes, we provide on-site CPR, First Aid, and OSHA safety training for businesses throughout Central PA.
What is the difference between BLS and Heartsaver CPR?
BLS is the professional-level certification for healthcare providers and adds two-rescuer CPR, team dynamics and bag-mask ventilation. Heartsaver is for people without a clinical background. If your employer asks for BLS specifically, take that class.
Do I need to renew my CPR certification?
Yes. AHA certification is valid for two years from the class date. Book your renewal before the card expires, since many employers treat an expired card as no certification at all.
Are your classes American Heart Association certified?
Yes. We teach official AHA curriculum and issue AHA certification cards, which is what most employers and licensing bodies require.
